Scope of service

SimpleMarriage provides administrative guidance and document-preparation support for couples who wish to marry in Denmark. We help you understand Danish marriage requirements, build a tailored document checklist, review your application for completeness before submission, and provide guidance on choosing a municipality and wedding date.

What is out of scope

• Legal representation or formal legal advice.
• Immigration, visa, or residence-permit counsel.
• Wedding event planning, venue, catering, photography, decoration.
• Communication with authorities on your behalf as a legal representative (we may, with your written instruction, transmit documents).

Authority responsibility

Final approval of any marriage application is made by Familieretshuset and the relevant Danish authorities. We do not, and cannot, guarantee:

• Approval of your application,
• Specific processing times,
• Availability of wedding-date appointments in any municipality,
• Recognition of the marriage in any specific foreign jurisdiction.

Fees

Our service fee is quoted upfront, in writing, before any work begins. The official Danish application fee (currently DKK 2,100) is separate, paid directly to Familieretshuset, and not handled by SimpleMarriage. Any third-party costs (translations, apostille, postage) are quoted separately and passed through at cost.

Refunds

If we cancel an engagement before substantive work has begun, the service fee is refunded in full. After work has begun, refunds are pro-rated based on work completed. The official application fee, once paid to Familieretshuset, is governed by Familieretshuset's own policies.

Limitation of liability

We do our work with care and based on the information you provide. We are not liable for outcomes that depend on third-party authority decisions, your provision of inaccurate information, or factors outside our reasonable control.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Danish law.
